Methods you can use

 

 One-on-one methods are: Letters, Faxes, Post Cards, Email and Telephone

But remember that Post Cards are read by everyone in the Mail System so there is a bit more than 1 to1 coverage

 

 Public methods are: Town Hall Meetings, Protests, and Rallies.

 

 At Rallies Distribute Pre Printed Post Cards and Telephone numbers of Members of Congress.

Telephone lists are found under the South Carolina and North Carolina Information Section

 

Reaching thousands is Letters to the Editor of publications such as newspapers. 

 Refuting Letters to the Editor can be done on line with the newspaper website.

 

Finally through the internet is Internet Blogging, and use of Social Network Sites.

 

 

 

Timeliness  of Communication

 

For prompt messages such as right before a vote, use the electronic means, telephone, fax and email.

 

For messages with a time horizon longer than a week, postal service (letters and post cards)

 

To influence others to the cause, letters to the editor internet blogging and rallies and protests are the vehicle of choice.

 

Results of Group Communications

4 Telephone calls to a County Commissioner can influence their actions

 

20 “Home Made” Post Cards to a US Senator or Representative from 20 different people will get their attention.

 

A single letter to the Editor of a Newspaper can influence local politics.

 

Many communications on the day before and day of a vote can influence the outcome in the US Senate or House of Representatives
